Challenge
This Building Authority had been using a “big name” VOIP service for several years. They contacted BizPhone to learn about our competitive telephone services. They were using an “applet” for the switchboard, which was awkward, and the phones were somewhat dated. In addition it was a monthly expense that they would like to reduce, but unwilling to sacrifice any quality or service. They would also prefer not to have a contract for equipment or service.
Solution
The IT Manager, Mike Pineau, contacted BizPhone for a response to the current phone situation. They had been using VoIP technology since 2009 after moving away from traditional landline service. Mike noted: “We monitor our spending very carefully and this extends to our office technology choices. We wanted to reduce phone costs.” The MSCBA has one main office with sixteen employees and typically with twenty phones in use.
After doing some calculations Mike realized that they could cut their bill in half if they used BizPhone services. MSCBA could save $800 per month, or $9,600 per year. “Why pay double for the same quality service? It was an easy decision, Mike commented.”
We recommended our VOIP system with desktop phones T46G with crystal-clear voice quality .They selected color phones and a color display with a touch screen for the receptionist as a switchboard. Mike commented: “The BizPhone operator panel is used by our receptionist and it is far superior to the Java applet that our previous VoIP provider offered us.”
Mike noted that the user experience has been positive. “Honestly, no substantial comments or reaction. That’s a huge positive from an IT perspective! Users simply want to be able to make and receive calls and BizPhone allows them to do that. Technology should never get in the way of productivity and BizPhone allows our users to get their work done. Our call volume varies but I would estimate between 400 – 500 incoming and outgoing connections per month at our busiest. A large percentage goes to voicemail as our staff travels frequently. The voicemail to email feature works just as well as our previous voicemail to email service.”
Installation
“The installation went well. BizPhone staff installed the phones, and everything worked out of the box. They setup the new phones, and then forwarded the old numbers to new temporary numbers. Everything was up and running right away. Support and service has been exceptional, as I’ve come to expect from NPV.”
“I highly recommend BizPhone for other small businesses. BizPhone offers high quality service at a very competitive price point.”
